Nominating a beneficiary is a good idea

In the unspeakable event of your death, who would you want your super to go to?

Not many people think of nominating a beneficiary, but it can be a good idea to do so.

A beneficiary is a person you nominate to receive your Death Benefit in the event of your death. Your Death Benefit is made up of money you have in your super and any death insurance cover you may have.

If you don't nominate a beneficiary, then the trustee of the fund will decide who receives your Death Benefit. Although the fund will act in your best interest, the outcome may not be what you want.
